Agribition 2016


Canadian Western Agribition has once again come and gone. For many of us this marks the end of fall and the beginning of winter and the Christmas season. It has been an exciting end of the season for Angus in Canada and everyone involved in Agribition and the breed should be proud. The largest beef show in Canada brings together exhibitors from across Canada and international guests from 70 different countries. 

First Lady Classic kicked off the event and the title of the 2016 First Lady Classic Futurity Champion went to Royal S Pride 42B from Twisted Sisters, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan with calf at side TWST Shes a Heartbreaker 66D. The First Lady Classic Champion went to Red Ter-Ron Diamond Mist 26C from Ter-Ron Farms, Forestburg, Alberta. 

President’s Classic was also held Tuesday. Congratulations to Miller Wilson Angus, Bashaw, Alberta who had the Reserve Supreme Champion with DMM International 54D. 

The Masterpiece Sale averaged more than $6,400 and raised close to $14,000 for the CJAA with the donation heifer, donated by JPD Angus, Oro-Medonte, Ontario and won by Anderson Cattle Co., Swan River, Manitoba.  

The Black Angus Show had 201 animals through the ring. Grand Champion Female was DMM Blackbird 105A with calf at side DMM International 54D from Miller Wilson Angus and Reserve was SC MICH Rose 30X with calf at side SC MICH Rose 613D from Katie Serhienko, Maymont, Saskatchewan. Grand Champion Bull went to EF Titan 545 from Enright Farms, Renfrew, Ontario and Reserve was Brooking Angus Ranch and W Sunrise Angus with Brooking Silver Lining 5012.  



The Red Angus show had 98 animals through the ring. Grand Champion Female was the 2-year-old Red Six Mile Gloria 195B with calf at side Red Six Mile Nio Gloria 555D from Six Mile Ranch, Fir Mountain, Saskatchewan. Reserve Champion was Red Ter-Ron Diamond Mist 26C from Ter-Ron Angus. Grand Champion Bull went to Red Six Mile Signature 295B from Six Mile Ranch, Blairs.Ag and Niobrara Red Angus and Reserve went to Red Six Mile High Caliber 177C from Six Mile Ranch, Diamond T Cattle Co., Vikse Family Farm and Sunberry Valley Ranch.



The CAA All Star Team for 2016 was announced and the Show Bull and Show Female of the Year awarded prior to the Power & Perfection Sale. Show Females of the Year were SC MICH Rose 30X with calf at side SC MICH Rose 613D from Katie Serhienko and Red Wildman Miss Stocky 420B with calf Red Wildman Cimarron 605D from Brett Wildman. Show Bull of the Year awards were presented to Red Ter-Ron Hot Shot 10B from Ter-Ron and Russel Coward and MAF First Impression 4420 from Mogcks Angus Farm and Mick & Debbie Trefiak. 2016 Gold Show awards

The Power and Perfection Sale had a full house and averaged $11,021. 

Saturday morning it was all about the Juniors with the Canadian Junior Beef Extreme Show. Angus reigned again with the Overall Extreme Champion going to the Black Angus Champion Merit Socialite 5024C exhibited by Carson Liebreich, Radville, Saskatchewan and Reserve went to the Red Angus Champion Red Ter-Ron Diamond Mist 26C exhibited by Kasey Adams.

The best of the best come into the ring for the crowning of the RBC Supreme Champion. Once again Angus came out with two wins, champion bull and champion female. Congratulations to Miller Wilson for their win with the female Black Angus Champion Female; DMM Blackbird 105A with calf at side DMM International 54D. Congratulations to Enright Farms for their win with the Agribition Grand Champion Black Angus bull, EF Titan 545.


Congratulations to all exhibitors and thank you for participating. To everyone who came out to watch in person or online at DLMS, thank you; without your interest these shows wouldn’t exist. Hope to see everyone again next year and hopefully the weather is as beautiful as it has been for the past week.
